The practical exercises and the interaction created between group members during the sessions made it an interesting team building experience. I would recommend it to any team/organisation that needs to uplift their team culture.

Designing Journeys of Transformation

Making a lasting impact using story structure

This workshop is for trainers, coaches, facilitators, teachers and speakers interested in making lasting impact.

Amidst the explosion of information across the globe, trainers, teachers, consultants and coaches want to have a lasting impact on their audiences. Story structure becomes a powerful and creative tool for designing processes with this kind of influence.

In a world of information overflow and everyone screaming for attention, it becomes increasingly difficult to present material succinctly and with lasting impact. There is a great need for ways to package material, structure workshops and shape learning experiences in a way that change minds, moves hearts, shape actions and transforms lives. Even when you are able to package your process well and make good first impressions, it then becomes a challenge to ensure its lasting influence. Standing out is not the only requirement, but also withstanding the test of time.

  • How do you make your presentation, workshop or programme stand out and make a lasting impact?

  • How do you package large amounts of information, complicated material or abstract concepts in a way that is succinct and powerful over a space of time?

  • The story structure of a mythic journey has as its main purpose the transformation of the hero, also called protagonist. The entire story is designed to fulfil this function and every character in the story play his or her role in such a way that the hero can grow. The only difference between the hero and anyone else in the story is lasting transformation and everything and everyone else is there purely to contribute to this.

It follows therefore, that it may be possible to use the structure of story to design a journey of transformation for other people. If you understand how to design a story so that the hero transforms, you can use this knowledge to design events and programmes that would let the participants transform and grow.

This training workshop wants to teach you how to do this. Using the 5 basic stages of the mythic journey as well as its sub components, you can design such a journey of growth for your audience, workshop participants and employees.>/P>
